BC - Part 4

Phew! Last one...I swear! Another reason we keep on returning to Tigh-Na-Mara is that they have a huge park nearby for the girls to play. We visited Parksville Beach & Park about once a day. The girls loved it and Catherine was finally old enough to make friends as they run around. In fact, they played so much together, Daddy couldn't help but make friends with the girls' father. I simply chased after Sonya.

On our last day on the Island, we drove up to Campbell River to spend time with Veronica Sr.and the Jibikis, minus Kyo. Veronica bought everyone a lovely lunch from a local restaurant. Even the Bell family drove down to join in on the fun.

Taking turns very well. These three played great together. Too bad we live so far away. :(

Glen and I enjoying our last day on the island. We discovered a new beer called Hermann's Dark Lager on the island. Very tasty stuff.

We returned to the mainland and spent the rest of the day with Arnt & Hanny. They were getting their roof done so we decided to head home early.

And finally, one last picture with Arnt, Glen & the girls.

We were even lucky weather wise for the drive home. A cold front came in and brought the temperature down about 5 to 10 degrees. Unfortunately we hit several construction areas which slowed us down quite a bit. We still managed it in one drive. However I think the DVD player was pretty warm by the end. ;)

Have to love mountain weather

Gorgeous! Well worth the drive. Right, Glen?

BC - Part 3

We were lucky that the young Jibiki families decided to visit us at our cabin at the Tigh-Na-Mara. The girls had fun playing at the beach, but the moms with young babies stayed at the shore because it was windy. We finished our visit with a dinner from Boston Pizza. Yum!

Once we'd gathered up all the shovels, buckets & watering cans, we journeyed back to the cabin to clean up the girls and get ready for dinner.

Once the Jibiki's packed up to journey to their next destination (Campbell River), we went down to the beach to enjoy our new kite, which was a gift from both Jibiki Families.

If you can't tell, it is a Jelly Fish!

BC - Part 2

We were able to get in touch with Steve, a good family friend. We ate lunch at a decently priced "all you can eat" fish & chips restaurant. We then followed the meal by a nice walk around Simon Fraser (at least I think that is the name).

The second half of our journey included the regular visit to the Tigh-Na-Mara resort. We had a great ferry ride however the girls didn't enjoy the strong wind on the deck. So after a yummy and traditional lunch of a BC burger and fries), we did multiple circles around the interior, with an occasional visit outside.

The weather this year was far better than last. I don't think it rained once. Our daily routine usually involved a trip to the beach and the pool. And with the weather being on our side, everything was that much more enjoyable. Here are some pictures of our cabin, as well as some shots of a typical time at the beach.
